55 Silver Nathan Young History And Compassionate Care

Nathan Young always displayed a profound desire to help others. This need to assist those in need was a driving force throughout his formative years and motivated him to pursue a career healthcare. Nathan dedicated himself to working with marginalized communities, advocating for their rights and providing them with the support they desperately needed. His passion for helping others led him to become actively involved in various charitable organizations, where he utilized his skills and expertise to make a positive impact on the lives of countless individuals. Nathan's unwavering commitment to serving others is not just a profession but a calling that shapes his entire being and inspires those around him to strive for betterment and equality in our society.
Nathan was in college during the most recent Israel-Lebanon war. He made the bold decision to fly to Israel, where he immersed himself in the culture and language, mastering Hebrew in just a few short months. Nathan then proudly served as a combat soldier in the Israel Defense Forces for two years, following an honorable discharge from the Coast Guard Academy. His dedication and commitment to serving his country in times of conflict exemplify his unwavering patriotism and courage. Nathan Young's military service has shaped him into a dedicated individual with a strong focus on serving and assisting others.
From 1996 to 2020, Nathan Young managed a 77-room Airbnb/hotel located just one block away from Beverly Hills. Originally a retirement home in poor condition, the hotel attracted individuals from a nearby sober living house who had been expelled. Nathan, with a natural inclination to assist others, employed former convicts seeking to transition out of halfway houses, as well as homeless and disadvantaged individuals. He extended his generosity to addicts, offering them accommodation at the hotel for minimal or no cost.
To further aid those struggling with addiction, Nathan established two sober living houses and facilitated their enrollment in treatment programs. However, the financial sustainability of this initiative was compromised by the irregular payments from the treatment centers. Despite the challenges, Nathan's commitment to supporting individuals in need remained unwavering. During this time, Nathan’s girlfriend tragically passed away from an overdose and this served to further his resolve to help those struggling with addiction.
In January 2020, the hotel industry faced significant challenges due to the impact of Covid-19. Nathan, a compassionate individual, found himself in a difficult situation when he was asked to leave a hotel by its owner. Determined to make a positive difference in the lives of others, Nathan turned his attention to the residents of his sober living homes.
In July 2020, Nathan took a bold step by purchasing an outpatient clinic with a friend. With an initial client base of 10 individuals, the clinic steadily expanded under Nathan's leadership. His guiding principle is rooted in love and acceptance, as he is driven by a genuine desire to assist those in need.
Nathan Young’s drive to help others with their addiction became very evident when in December 2022, Aetna ceased payments, subjecting all clinics to a pre-payment audit. This posed a significant challenge as Aetna was the primary source of revenue at that time. Despite the logical business decision to close the business, discharge clients, and terminate employees, Nathan chose a different path. He expressed his commitment to helping clients, his appreciation for his employees, and his determination to keep the business operational. Consequently, Nathan personally invested $5.5 million in the first six months of 2023 to sustain the business. This dedication led him to work tirelessly, putting in 16-hour days, seven days a week throughout 2023 to prevent bankruptcy.
Prior to Aetna ceasing payment for all claims (prior to December 2023), Nathan's overhead for each outpatient client per day was $600. This overhead is unprecedented in the industry, as no other treatment center has such high costs. Nathan employed one staff member for every client he served, which allowed for a personalized and high-quality level of care. This individualized approach to treatment proved to be highly effective in helping individuals achieve sobriety.
Drawing on his extensive background in the military and sober living facilities, Nathan Young sought to broaden his horizons in the healthcare industry. As a co-founder of both 55 Silver and 9 Silver, he played a pivotal role in establishing two highly successful healthcare staffing companies.
