Struggling as a high school student, he later attended Glendale Community College before transferring to UCLA, where he majored in English. The decision to pursue law came when a friend chose to attend law school, prompting Avaness to consider the same path and ultimately leading him to a career in the legal field.

Without any initial guidance, Aren found law school to be very difficult. Still, he adjusted well enough to complete his education and began to fall in love with the idea of pursuing justice. Once he had officially entered the profession, he was certain that starting his own law firm was the right path forward. Unfortunately, he chose to found Avaness Law during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this setback, Aren was determined to succeed—after all, he’d already started networking, built a website, and even made business cards. He was going to make this work.
